We are pleased to announce that Sean Culey, the Managing Director of SEVEN (shown below at the 2008 SAP User Group Conference) has been appointed to the European Leadership Team of the Supply Chain Council, the global ‘not for profit’ organisation that sets the standards for process definition, metrics and best practices through the SCOR®, DCOR® and CCOR® reference models.

This appointment was in part in recognition of the close relationship SEVEN has built up with the Council and the way that SEVEN has strived to promote the SCC in the United Kingdom as a way of driving supply chain value — especially amongst members of the SAP community.
As supporters and promoters of the Supply Chain Council and the SCOR model, Sean looks forward to increase exposure of the SCOR model and the value it can bring to organisations looking for ways to improve their end-to-end supply chain processes.
Keep an eye on SEVEN’s website for information about SCC key events such as training and conferences.
Why should my organisation join the Supply Chain Council?
The Council offers resources, capability development and knowledge networks to accelerate an organization's use of-and benefits from-SCOR and related models. It is also becoming a welcome source for generating neutral discussion groups and development teams free of commercial overtones.
How well are Supply Chain Council and SCOR working for member companies?
Even with the dramatic economic downturn of the past year, SCC Fortune-1000 member companies have on the whole retained positive share value performance - not true for the DOW, or S&P 500. You can track the SCORindex share performance live from SCORlabs at http://www.scorlabs.org/scor/scorindex. As Rolf Poluha wrote in his groundbreaking book Application of the SCOR Model in Supply Chain Management - the fact is proven: companies applying SCOR top their operations bring consistent 1-3% improvement on their bottom line performance.
The Council also enjoys over 3000 Academic articles as found by recent Google Academic publication searches, proving SCOR provides a unique foundation as a universal language for Supply Chain understanding. Likewise, over 500 publications including Bolstorff's classic "Supply Chain Excellence" cite SCOR and Supply Chain council as a best practice for modern, professional supply chain management.
Finally, Networking for SCC members is expanding with SCORlabs and its member-to-member messaging system, blogs, focused user groups, and connection with capable consultants and analyst members for support of supply chain improvement programs. We have put into place a weekly webinar in the US, and for Europe - each Friday, key topics in Supply Chain are presented in an open session forum, with Q&A.
