Business Process Modelling

"There is nothing as useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all."
Peter F Drucker

Modelling your current 'as-is', and designing your future 'to-be' processes are essential parts of our diagnostic and improvement methodology.

SEVEN can create dynamic, working models of your business processes using Global standard definitions.  These can be linked to the SAP configuration, to help mitigate risks to the business and demonstrate to auditors exactly what you do, how you do it, and why.

Here at SEVEN we have experienced BPM experts, having blueprinted and implemented many different SAP solutions. One key learning that has come out of this work, is that whilst tools like Visio are excellent at allowing business to design flow maps that represent their 'as-is' and 'to-be' processes, they are effectively a 'snap-shot in time', that are out of date the moment they are produced. Maintaining these documents becomes a tiresome and unmanageable task, as does ensuring that they use common naming conventions and standards.

We are happy to use whatever tool the customer wishes in order to develop business models and flow-maps, but we do have relationships with a number of leading BPM tool vendors that allow us to create these documents and their associated processes and elements for our customers in a central database or repository that ensures a common naming and style convention is used. It also greatly reduces the maintenance overhead by ensuring that a change made in one document is reflected everywhere else this element is referenced and displayed. This allows the customer to quickly learn how to own and document its own processes and company knowledge.

We can use these BPM tools to web-publish the resultant Process Models, which in turn enables world-wide access to a common view of your businesses processes. 'Swim-lane' based training documentation and RACI diagrams can then be linked to more detailed 'screen-shot' based training material, and this training material can again be web published, quickly allowing this information to be shared and distributed amongst resources within organisations that has a mobile or disparate workforce.

We also have BPM tools that are align with the Supply Chain Council's SCOR methodology and processes, which SEVEN use to rapidly speed up the diagnostic process and retain a complete record of the thought processes and decisions that sit behind the 'to-be' model. This is incredibly important because roles, responsibilities and resources change, and it is often the case that the business find it difficult to explain why certain processes were designed in a certain way.

In order to stay competitive, a company's business processes must be adapted quickly as customer and market demands are constantly changing. Therefore, business process software must be easy to understand, highly scalable, platform independent and available companywide with low administration costs. SEVEN believes that the new wave of BPM products offer them the best tools to enable their customers to work and continuously develop their business processes.

We are also partners with Enterprise Change Limited, a company that specialises in BPM and in using tools like ARIS to quickly extract the required information about your processes and your systems usage. See the page 'Our Partners' for more information on ECL.
